The Furrian media and citizens rejoiced when it was announced that the newest prince was a bear, due to the bear-dominated population. Kringle's birth was widely celebrated, even in surrounding countries. News networks reported parades and massive celebrations being held in place of the usual Christmas activities. Some historians coined the term "the Kringle effect", which described the startling increase of interest with the royal family, including an obsession with Prince Kringle himself, that swept the citizens of Furria. The phenomenon included merchandise with Prince Kringle's face on it, and even citizens who decorated their homes with paintings and statues of the prince. Home of the Furrian royals
Furrington Palace is the main residency of the Furrian royal family, located in the nation's capital city of Furrington. The Palace was built in 1164 as a gift from the Samua. Prior to the Palace, the royal family lived in a large estate called the Grand House. After the family moved to the Palace, the Grand House was preserved for historical purposes. Samua regretted gifting Furrington Palace to Furria during the Furrian War, and there were many unsuccessful attempts to destroy it during the war.

The royal family has many other residencies. They have a summer house in Port Milo, a penthouse in Samutropolis, a skiing resort in an isolated area west of the town of Skippy.
